First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Horizon Air.
Customer Service Agent
The hiring process has 3 interviews. First, a phone interview with simple questions. If successful, you'll be invited to a group interview at the airport. They'll start with a presentation about the company and position. Then, a group interview where they'll ask a past scenario question. If successful, you'll stay for a one-on-one interview, which is more in-depth, asking about your experience and behavioral questions.
- Describe a situation where you disagreed with a new work procedure.
Customer Service Agent
If you're interviewing from out of town, you'll first meet with the station manager and some local leaders. They'll mainly ask you scenario-based questions and some general behavioral ones. Expect to be asked about teamwork, what you'd do if you had to follow a policy you disagreed with, and how you'd make decisions on your own. Make sure to give specific examples in your answers – that'll really make you stand out. After that one-on-one, if you're selected, they'll send you to Seattle to chat with a recruiter. Getting sent to Seattle pretty much means you have the job; the recruiter is just there to confirm you meet the company's standards. Sometimes, if they're hiring for several roles at once, they might do a group interview.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to enforce a policy that you didn't agree with, and how you handled communicating it and moving forward?
- Describe an instance where you disagreed with a policy but still had to enforce it. What was your approach?
- How would you go about communicating a policy you personally do not agree with?
Customer Service Agent
After applying online, I was contacted quickly and followed up by phone, email, and in person by recruiters and the station manager. I had a phone interview, a 1:1 in person interview, and then a group/panel interview at the airport with current employees. This was followed by quick phone and email follow-up and a final interview at horizon operations. The station manager and all employees were very helpful and welcoming, and it's clear they enjoy working there!
