The interview process felt unprepared at times. The first couple of rounds were conversational, followed by a technical round focused on understanding my thought process. The final round was also conversational, but it felt like they were trying to push me into a role without clear responsibilities. When I questioned the specifics of the role, I received vague, unhelpful answers. The lack of transparency about the actual work environment was disappointing, especially since the earlier interviewers seemed more engaged and knowledgeable about the job requirements.

1st up was a phone screen where they asked about me, why I applied to Horace Mann, if I had my P&C license, and if I needed any time off in the next 90 days. Then there was a 2nd interview over Microsoft Teams (video) with 1 Sales Supervisor and 1 Sales Manager. It was about an hour long. They introduced themselves, the company, and the role, and then asked if I had any questions. After that, they started with STAR method questions. About a week later, I got the job offer. It requires a background check and drug screening. It's a fully remote job with base pay plus uncapped commission, and all equipment is provided.

Behavioral Technical

I went through 3 interviews for this job, starting with a phone screen and then two video interviews, all over about two months. The first two interviews were pretty good, but the last one was a downer because the two interviewers seemed really uninterested and barely knew my resume. Two weeks after that, I got an automated rejection. It felt like a total waste of time for an entry-level role, especially after nearly two months. No feedback, no call, and not even a personal email from my recruiter. Honestly, I've had better interview experiences at a grocery store.

I heard back from them way later, like months after I applied. The interview process had three parts: first with HR, then a panel of four people, and finally the director. This whole thing took about two months, and then they told me there weren't any openings for claims reps in my area, even though it was remote. I was super disappointed because they kept saying how I was a great fit and would be good for the team. It felt like a total waste of time.
