After an initial phone screen, I was invited for a second interview at Hootsuite. The office was really nice. I spent a whole week studying everything I could about Hootsuite, especially their Manifesto because it's a big dream of mine to work there. The interview had 3 people: 1 HR and 2 managers/shift leads from Customer Service. They were polite and the interview seemed to go well, but I suspect I might have been seen as overqualified. A week later, HR emailed to say they weren't moving forward. Even though I didn't get the job, I'm glad I got to interview and I won't give up on trying again.

I applied online in early June 2013 with a funny cover letter. A month later in July, I got an email for a phone interview. Two days after that, they asked for references and set up an in-person interview for July 24. I sent my references and a confirmation. On July 24, I arrived for the interview and got a quick tour of the cool office. The interview started with three people: two managers and an HR rep. They all asked questions while two took notes. Two were friendly, but one guy was cold and asked very specific questions. Two more people joined and left, asking their own questions. It felt like it went well, but they wouldn't share salary info, which was weird. They said they'd reply within a week, but they didn't. I sent a thank-you note on July 29. After two weeks of silence, I tweeted HR on August 8th. On August 9th, they told me they went with other candidates.

First, HR set up a phone chat to talk about me, my background, and my customer service experience. Then, I went to the HootSuite office in Vancouver - HQ1 for another interview. This one was with the Team Lead, the Manager, and HR. They were all super nice and easy to talk to. There was about 1.5 weeks between the interviews.
