First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hoopis Group.
Financial Advisor
I was referred by an employee for a Financial Adviser position at Hoopis Financial. Christina Walsh helped schedule and follow up. The office looked great and was mostly younger people. Christina met me and we went to the conference room. It felt more like a comfortable, fun, and enlightening conversation than an interview. After about 20 minutes of rapport, we discussed Hoopis, their mission, and what they do. Coming from sales, I was impressed by Hoopis's services and learned a lot. The staff and company history were intriguing and seemed based on good ethics. I saw the appeal: the harder you work, the more you can earn. The team seemed motivated for success. From my sales background, I understood what it takes to succeed as an adviser there. Christina was a great first impression, very knowledgeable about the company, job, and culture. Her enthusiasm made me feel confident about the company and next steps.
- Did you ever think about working in finance?
- Tell me about how you've dealt with customers in past roles.
- What are your future aspirations at Hoopis – do you see yourself as an Advisor or moving into management?
Financial Advisor
I met with the Hiring Manager for an initial/exploratory interview to learn more about the position. She was very professional, but also casual and the meeting was more of a discussion than an interview. The meeting was informative for myself and for Hoopis to determine if it was a good fit. While the timing was not right for myself to move forward with the interview process, it is a very well run company and a good place to grow a career and be successful.
- Can you tell me about your background, experience, and skills?
Financial Advisor
I met them at the campus job fair. At first, it seemed like a good opportunity, but after looking into it more, I got a different impression. It felt like they were trying to recruit as many students as possible. When I asked more pointed questions about how many people leave the job, what the future career path looks like, and what kind of financial losses one might face, their responses seemed a bit evasive.
- Can you tell me about the turnover rate?
- What are the opportunities for career growth?
- What are the potential financial losses in this position?
