There were about 4 to 5 interview rounds, with each one happening a week or two after the previous. Hoopis is a company that's really upfront about things. In the very first meeting, they lay out everything about the company and the whole interview process. I got to what I think was the third round, where they wanted me to do a field test, which involved getting 10 clients from my friends and family. I actually accepted another job offer at this point because I was applying to other places during my last year of college that had less demanding interviews. I do recall that the final step in the interview process is a meeting with the CEO.

Behavioral Presentation

The hiring process was super fast and efficient. It included a phone interview, then two in-person interviews, followed by a Q&A with an advisor and a meeting with Pete Hoopis. You also have to do a marketing presentation on how you'd build your business. It took about a month, and they got back to me with an offer quickly. They also did a great job explaining the role.

I was referred by an employee for a Financial Adviser position at Hoopis Financial. Christina Walsh helped schedule and follow up. The office looked great and was mostly younger people. Christina met me and we went to the conference room. It felt more like a comfortable, fun, and enlightening conversation than an interview. After about 20 minutes of rapport, we discussed Hoopis, their mission, and what they do. Coming from sales, I was impressed by Hoopis's services and learned a lot. The staff and company history were intriguing and seemed based on good ethics. I saw the appeal: the harder you work, the more you can earn. The team seemed motivated for success. From my sales background, I understood what it takes to succeed as an adviser there. Christina was a great first impression, very knowledgeable about the company, job, and culture. Her enthusiasm made me feel confident about the company and next steps.

I applied through my college career finder website and got a call from Christina, the recruiter, that Friday to set up an interview for the following Monday. She responded to emails quickly and was very clear about where to go, who to meet, and what to do upon arrival. I met with Christina first, then one of the associates I'd be working with. Both were really nice and easy to talk to. After a short second meeting, they told me I got the internship and was a good fit, but the other associate I was supposed to work for was out of town, so we were waiting for him to get back before discussing pay and job details. This was fine with me as I had just graduated and was happy to relax for a few days, but days turned into weeks and then a month of chasing them via email, phone, and text. I'd ask when we could meet to talk about my start date, only to be told they were out of state again. I finally sent one last email because I was already applying for other jobs and internships. Hopefully, the associates can learn to be available and communicate with necessary people before taking trips they seem to take for meeting their goals.
