First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Manager
The interview process spanned about three months and consisted of three main stages. You'll get an initial email from HR with the interview schedule, including who you'll be meeting with. The first interview typically involves a few team leads and an HR manager. The second round is with stakeholders and the department head, and the final interview is with the director of the department. It's a pretty friendly interview setting. Expect a lot of situational questions, especially in the second interview with stakeholders, focusing on how you can contribute to their team. You'll need to know the job description well and have solid experience to share about handling different challenges.
- What is your reason for joining HKJC?
Executive Manager
The interview process was easy and standard, starting with an HR interview, followed by a written test (though not all departments require this), then an interview with the hiring manager, then their peer, and finally an interview with the executive director. The entire process was smooth and efficient, with the HR team being particularly proactive and communicative.
- Can you share an example of how you've managed communication and stakeholders during a complex situation?
Management Trainee
It was a long process with many rounds spanning about half a year. The interviewers were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know the candidate. The panel interview focused heavily on personal background and motivations for selecting the specific division. For those with prior work experience, a key question was about the decision to pursue a trainee role.
- What makes you select this MT program compared to other programs?
- Why would you like to be a trainee if you have been working for a few years?
