First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HoneyBook.
Fullstack Developer
The first interview was a technical screen involving an algorithm question and a whiteboard exercise. The interviewer was rude, being on his phone and criticizing my approach sarcastically and dismissively. He kept saying my direction was wrong even though I was making progress. This soured my view of the company.
- Can you describe a past accomplishment?
Leadership
It was a pretty standard process: first a recruiter screen, then a hiring manager interview, followed by topgrading, and finally a panel interview. Everyone I spoke with was kind and knowledgeable. The recruiter was particularly personable and authentic, and I had great interactions with the whole team.
- For the assignment, please create a strategy for implementing AI over the next few years. They emphasized that I shouldn’t spend too many hours on it, and no slides were expected.
Head of People
The interview process for the Head of People - US role at HoneyBook was a really great experience. The recruiter, Cyntia Haro, was super clear and kept me updated, making everything flow smoothly. I also had a really good chat with Anya Benbarak, the SVP of People, and it was obvious she's really passionate about creating a people-first culture, which is pretty awesome and not something you see every day. Even though I didn't end up getting an offer, I have nothing but good things to say about HoneyBook's culture and the team.
- Considering how AI is driving innovation, how do you see yourself managing the workforce?
Product Manager
The interview process seemed really long, like maybe seven interviews total. I got cut after the first interview after the initial screening call, which was with the hiring manager. The recruiter was super nice and really considerate. But, the hiring manager came off as condescending and seemed to have a very specific idea of what they wanted, and they'd shut me down whenever I said something that didn't fit their exact mold. They had this vibe like talking to me was a waste of their valuable time. It was the most extreme case of no connection with an interviewer I've ever experienced.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
