Got the interview request pretty quickly after applying. It was a quick HR chat, then a talk with the hiring manager, and finally a group interview with the team. Everyone was nice and asked good questions. They said they'd let me know by a certain time, but I didn't hear back. When I followed up by email, they said they left me a voicemail, but I definitely didn't get one (my voicemail wasn't full). I asked if they actually called my number, and they never replied. It was a weird way to find out I didn't get the job.

Behavioral Technical Case

I kicked things off with a quick chat with the recruiter, who was super chill and made me feel at ease right away. Then, I had a 30-minute meeting with the hiring manager, where I also had to do a small technical task. After that, it was three more 30-minute chats with different team folks. Everyone I met was really into it, friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The questions they asked were spot on, and one interview even had a scenario-based problem, which I actually liked because it felt like they were taking their time with the process. To wrap it all up, I had another brief check-in with the hiring manager before they extended the offer.

So I interviewed with Homeward for a Software Engineering position. The process had 3 rounds plus a final round. They started with a take-home assessment with 40 questions, then I had to build a student registration portal to bring to the final round. The interviewers seemed tired and unfriendly, and the interview felt more like an interrogation. They debated my past experiences instead of taking them at face value. They also seemed more concerned with migrating from heroku to aws using elastic beanstalks than with security breaches. After the final interview, the recruiter ghosted me when I asked for an update.
