Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HomeStar Remodeling.
Marketing
Started with a quick personality test, then met two people who asked why I was interested and talked about the job. Got to ask questions, and they said to be honest.
- What's your best sales technique?
Marketing
The first day of my interview, I spoke with the recruiter. He was pretty casual and definitely made the interview feel very relaxed which i believed was great. He pretty much explained the position of the job and what I'd be doing and why the company exists. He went over the history of the company and the owners. I had to come back the next day because the owner wasn't there. The owner was also very great to speak with, but he asked more of the serious questions.
- Can you handle rejection?
Marketing
The interview process was pretty standard. I went through several different stages before getting hired, and they seemed to really value the wide range of experience I brought. The person I spoke with was very relatable, and I found our conversation enjoyable. It felt more like a casual chat than a formal interview, which made me feel at ease about whether I was saying the right things.
- If I have good self-awareness, I won't face any questions I'm unprepared for.
