Assistant Store Manager
The interview was brief and to the point, with the interviewers doing most of the talking. They provided a lot of information about the job, which was explained well. However, some of the information they gave turned out to be inaccurate. They came across as arrogant and power-tripping, not very friendly, and a bit uncomfortable to talk to. They also made a lot of empty promises about future promotion opportunities.
- What makes me special?
Store Manager
Applied online and got a call from a recruiter to set up an interview. The first interview went well and was very informative. The second interview was with the regional manager, where I learned more about the company and discussed my career aspirations. The third interview was with the store manager, focusing on behavioral questions. I asked about the timeline for a final decision, and they mentioned it would be after the meeting with the regional manager. About two days later, I received an email from the recruiter to check my references. Finally, I had a fourth and last interview with both the regional and store managers. They wanted to discuss how work had been since the first interview and if I had anything new to discuss. We spent quality time talking and asking questions. I then got a call from the recruiter with a job offer.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in working for this company?
- Could you share some behavioral questions, specifically situational ones where you discuss the situation, your solution, and the outcome?
Assistant Store Manager
I applied for an ASM role and got called back right away to set up an interview. When I called them back, it ended up being a phone interview. About a week later, I had a face-to-face interview. After that, I had to wait a long time. They took ages to call me back for the third round. When I got the call for the third, I thought I hadn't passed the second part, so I didn't bother calling back. The third interview was a panel with five people, which felt like I was interviewing for a district manager job. They asked everything you could imagine and more. Then, I waited again, almost three weeks this time. I finally called them, and that's when they told me I didn't get the job and that they were going to call me. It was really unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth. I get not being selected, but they made me wait so long after my second interview, and the third interview was so thorough, I thought they'd at least call me. The manager said she'd be in touch, but clearly, my time wasn't important. I was told by the manager they were waiting on a background check, which is why I hadn't heard back, so was I their backup? What's weird is the background check was done after my first in-person interview, so that was obviously a lie. After reading reviews, it's probably a good thing I didn't get the offer.
