Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HomeGoods.
Retail Merchandiser
It was a good and friendly interview, pretty standard questions, nothing too tough. It lasted about 20-30 minutes. They went over what the job entails, the pay, and the work hours, also highlighting how things differ in the slow and busy times of the year.
- A bit about everything, asked in a very friendly way.
Merchandiser
The interview was too noisy. The interviewer was busy and didn’t really listen. She asked me 3 questions and then hung up quickly. Maybe there are too many candidates for this position.
- Can you tell me about your previous job?
Visual Merchandiser
It was a quick interview with just a couple of questions. They wanted to see my work experience and confidence. They mentioned that if I show I want to work, people will notice. Being comfortable and myself made the process smoother. The manager was easy to talk to and asked a few questions to gauge my understanding and my desire to work. They also noted that putting in time and effort can lead to opportunities, like a higher position being offered.
- Do you have prior retail experience?
