The hiring process was a great experience. I spoke with the District Manager and a Store Manager. I am waiting to hear back from the company. Overall, I would recommend everyone to apply for Homegoods. It's an awesome company.

Phone interview for TJX divisions, Marshall's recruiter connected me to HomeGoods. Had a second HR phone interview that went well. Was told I'd hear from a DM or assistant that week. After 3 follow-up calls and a month, I got an in-person interview scheduled 65 miles away. Another company showed interest, so I decided to go to this interview while waiting. I arrived 15 minutes early but waited an hour and 45 minutes past the scheduled time. The interview seemed to go great, with enthusiasm from both sides. They asked if they could call my references, when I could start, my salary range (they said it was high but within range), and my thoughts on locations. They also went over the training process and said I'd hear back within a week. I was very enthusiastic and sent a follow-up after a week when I hadn't heard anything. I didn't really want to accept the other job offer, but I had to due to financial reasons. After no response from HomeGoods, I accepted the other position. I sent two unanswered follow-up emails. Three weeks later, I sent a third follow-up, stating I wasn't available immediately and would need two weeks' notice. They then responded that they had filled the position. I felt strung along for 2.5 months, which was disappointing. I really liked the company and wanted to work there, waiting patiently for calls that never came. I couldn't turn down another offer while they were stringing me along, even though I preferred this company. It's unprofessional and unfair to lead candidates on if you aren't interested.

I interviewed with the recruiter and then the district manager. References were immediately requested the next morning, which in this company pretty much means you got the job. I waited a week and a half only to be told they went with an internal candidate. Funny retail is a very small world and the person they hired was not an internal but someone I know!
