First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Holy Cross Health.
Registered Nurse
My overall interview with Holy Cross Health was pretty good, like a 3.8 out of 5 stars. First, I had this virtual interview where they asked general questions about the jobs available, the shifts, and how the orientation works. Then, they set me up for a shadow shift on the unit for about two hours. During that time, I got to see how shifts change over and watched the morning huddle.
- Were there any specific interview questions asked?
- I primarily asked questions about the unit.
Registered Nurse
I initially had a quick 20-minute phone chat with an HR recruiter. We talked about my background, education, and they threw in some hypothetical 'what would you do if...' type questions. The next day, they reached out to set up an in-person interview with the head RN of the ED. This meeting was super short, only about 10-15 minutes, just me and the head RN. After that, I was scheduled for a shadow day where I followed a seasoned RN on the floor for about 4 hours. I chatted with the head RN again that day, and she pretty much said I had the job pending the background check. I got a call back soon after confirming I got the position.
- Can you share an instance from your past nursing work where you had to speak up for a patient to someone more senior?
Registered Nurse
The interview process was very quick and straightforward. They didn't ask many questions, mostly focusing on my availability and if I could start immediately when needed.
- What is your typical schedule like?
