This was a super long and drawn out interview process, it took like 9 months to complete. I talked to 13 different people in 7 meetings, some were virtual and some were in person. I had a bunch of calls with the talent acquisition team. I had to wake up really early sometimes or take PTO to make their interview times work. They changed who I was talking to and when on short notice a lot. All this and I got rejected after flying out to meet the hiring manager. I had already accepted another job making over 30k more than this role was offering by the time I got to the final round. I think this whole thing was excessive for a $70k base salary. You guys should streamline your process and if you have better candidates, filter out the less suitable ones earlier so they don't waste time and money. I'm probably never applying to this company again because this was the most frustrating interview process ever. It's crazy how a company can't make decisions faster. It's disrespectful to string along candidates, especially in a niche field like this. Good luck to the person who got the job. It's very telling when a company can't make decisions effectively in a shorter time frame. It's very disrespectful to drag potential candidates, especially in such a niche field.

The hiring team was great with communication and setting up the interview, sending clear and timely emails. The interview itself was a bit of a mixed bag. After the initial phone screening, I had a video call with two people. They acknowledged my experience at first, but then it seemed like they were looking for someone else. One of the interviewers was pretty hostile at times, asking things in a really condescending way, like ‘Do you realize it takes a human 2 years to be trained in morphology?’. It’s okay to share your own thoughts, but it shouldn’t sound like they’re talking down to you or dismissing you. Also, this interviewer’s voice was really loud, almost like they were yelling, which was distracting even if it wasn’t on purpose. Maybe a headset would have helped.

I thought the interview process was great and moved pretty quickly considering how busy everyone was. The team kept me in the loop about what to expect next and who I'd be talking to.
