First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hologic.
Software Engineer
I had a phone screening and then 3 on-site technical interviews. The interviewers were really nice. I heard back in a couple days. The first on-site was 45 mins, basic data structures and work experience talk. The second was also 45 mins, more data structures, system design, and database design. The third one was 30 mins with two interviewers, focusing on academic projects and some behavioral stuff. Then a quick chat with the Manager about what they expect and what the intern would do.
- Can you tell me about basic data structures?
- Let's discuss your academic projects.
- Tell me about your previous work experience.
Software Engineer
The interview wasn't arranged well, they kept changing the schedule. The workplace feels a bit chaotic, like a startup, but they don't share profits like one. The engineers are alright, but management seems unprofessional, using inefficient methods for a large company. It's surprising how they'll survive with less than 80 people in R&D. The HR person was unprofessional, repeatedly asking about salary even after I shared my current one. She seemed junior and probably wanted to impress, as she couldn't even arrange the process properly. Job seekers should be wary of companies like HoLogic and not waste their time.
- Would you accept a mid-level role if a senior position isn't available, given that your current experience doesn't exactly match our needs for a senior role?
- Can you discuss technical details?
Software Engineer
I had a phone interview where they asked me about my classes and some OOP concepts. Then, I went on-site for a technical interview that was split into two parts. The first part involved technical questions from current Software Engineers, and we talked about multi-threading and a basic foobar algorithm.
- Could you list potential problems that can arise with multithreading?
- What are OOP concepts?
- Tell me about multithreading.
