Retail Associate
The hiring process was pretty simple and fast. First, I submitted my application. Then, I had a quick in-person interview with the manager. They mainly asked about my availability, my customer service experience, and how I fit into a team in retail.
- Can you tell me about your availability and how you'd manage assisting customers during peak times, and how you collaborate with colleagues in a high-volume retail setting?
- How do you work with others in a fast-paced retail environment?
Cashier
It was pretty easy, like a chat. They asked me about my strengths and weaknesses. I didn't prepare for stuff like hobbies, but they did ask why I was interested in Hobby Lobby. After the interview, there was a math test, which was easy since I'm good at math. Calculators aren't used on the job.
- What areas do you need to work on for yourself?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?

The interview process was very quick and simple. I submitted my application and was interviewed and hired all in the same day. They gave a surprise math test with simple word problems, like figuring out how many more items are needed to fill a shelf given the item count and shelf capacity. The interviewer was very kind.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Describe how you would manage a customer conflict.
