They said their motto is "breadth of knowledge and depth of knowledge." They should have hired an enterprise architect instead of a mobile technology architect, and HR should have been clearer about what they wanted. The technology director asked a question early on, and I immediately realized it was going in the direction of enterprise architecture, so I told him it wasn't my area. I figured they should have saved both our time since I was clear about my expertise. They didn't seem bothered at first, but the technical director kept asking about the server layer, even though I kept repeating that it wasn't my expertise. It felt like they just wanted to have a discussion for the sake of it because I showed up. After an hour, when I asked what they were looking for, they repeated their "breadth of knowledge, depth of knowledge" motto. It was frustrating because they knew what they wanted, and I knew what I was, so why waste an hour? They asked this politely, but then acted like they didn't hear me and didn't answer. The whole hour felt like a waste of time, discussing things not closely related to mobile.
