Recruiter
I was contacted by an internal recruiter who set up a meeting with her and the manager because they were looking for a technical recruiter and wanted to meet me. My interview with her went well. We went over my education and work history. She told me about the role and responsibilities. I asked questions and she answered. It was very straightforward and easy. After we finished, she said she'd go get the manager for my technical recruiter interview. I waited in the small, stuffy room for almost thirty minutes before finally talking to the receptionist. I waited another twenty to thirty minutes before he finally came in. He didn't know my name or what my degree was in, even though he had my resume. He didn't ask about my work history or anything. He just sat down and said, "What questions do you have for me?" It was 15 minutes of me pulling questions out of nowhere before he finally said, "I don't think your background fits the position" and suggested I meet with a recruiter from their office (whom I'd met with before for opportunities, none of which were good or what we'd discussed) to build my resume! He was basically trying to sell me their services after giving one of the worst interviews I'd ever had, which was ironic given how their recruiters talk about evaluating their clients' interview processes.

Associate
Got referred by a friend. First talked to an external recruiter, then a great internal recruiter. Then met with the managing director and two executives. The last step was a phone call with the VP because I couldn't get out of work again. It was a pretty long but comprehensive interview process. This company was known for being super selective and only hiring experienced folks for this role. I got an offer pretty quickly and started two weeks later.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- What about your work experience?
- What are your aspirations?
Account Executive
The HireStrategy team was really on top of things, contacting me 2-3 times a week via call or email, right up until I went to their client's office for an in-person interview. It's been a month since that interview and I still haven't heard back about the hiring manager's decision or gotten any formal feedback. I've reached out multiple times since then but haven't gotten a response from HireStrategy. For a company that relies on people to grow, this is a pretty bad way to build relationships.
- What motivates your interest in a sales career?
Recruiting Associate
I had an initial phone screen with the Internal Recruiter. After that, I had two separate in-person interviews. The first in-person one was with the Managing Director, Senior Director, and some other team members. The second in-person one was with the COO of the company. All of my interviews were 1:1, and there were no panel interviews.
