First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hireology.
Senior Software Engineer
So, the interview process was pretty standard, four calls in total. Started with an initial screening call, then talked to the hiring manager, followed by a technical call with some engineers. The last one was a behavioral/situational call. It was all very straightforward, no weird curveballs or anything unexpected. They communicated clearly throughout.
- How have you handled difficult situations with colleagues?
- Describe your process for learning new technologies.
- Can you share an example of a past mistake and how you fixed it?
Software Engineer
First there was a basic 'who are you' chat. The next step was meant to be a technical interview, but it felt more like a 'who are you as a programmer' chat than a 'what can you do' evaluation. I didn't get a quick 'you aren't what we were looking for. Good luck.' response, but since the first response was within a couple of days and the rejection took over a week, I already figured out the bad news. The letter was also kind of patronizing like I couldn't take the news. 'We know rejection is difficult....'
- Which programming language is your favorite?
Software Engineer
The interview process had at least 5 interviews: a recruiter chat, a technical interview with other Engineers, one with the head of Engineering, one with the whole team, and so on... Even though it sounded like it should take a long time, each interview was timeboxed and had clear follow-up steps. I felt well-informed throughout the whole process, and was never left wondering about where I stood or what would be happening next.
- Can you tell me about a time when X occurred and how you managed it, along with what you think you could have done better?
