Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hireology.
Strategic Account Executive
I had an initial chat with the internal recruiter, who then forwarded my info to hiring managers. They were interested in interviewing me for both the Enterprise Trapper (account manager) and Enterprise AE roles. I got one interview invite, so I thought both managers would join. However, on the Zoom call, only one manager was present, and it wasn't one of the ones I was scheduled to meet. We had the interview, and at the end, I closed him. He gave excellent feedback and promised to reschedule the interview with the other manager right away. The next Monday, I emailed the recruiter, and he replied that they weren't moving forward because, despite great feedback, my answers were too long-winded.
- What were the regular questions asked?
Account Executive
My interview experience was very organized, swift, and holistic. During my process, I had to navigate through my lack of experience in SaaS, but find a parallel in pay/title to the prior industry I worked in. What was great to experience in my interview process with Hireology is that they evaluated me for the role primarily on who I was as an individual and how effectively I could fit into their culture or help them accomplish their goals as a quickly growing company. Since I had some experience interviewing in my prior job, I was very attentive to see if Hireology/Management "practiced what they preached". By listening to and reading about Adam talk about how important the people side of the business is crucial to your future stability/performance...that was backed up in the way the interviews were conducted, how managers evaluated my interviews, etc. Based on my experiences with some other companies...that stood out. To tie things up, the entire interview process took about 2-3 weeks. Rachel did a phenomenal job coordinating the process and keeping in touch where there were some gaps of communication...which was a great touch. They have a calculated approach, they know what they are looking for, AND...they use their own software to hire (that's good right?). Excited to grow here and craft out my path in the SaaS industry.
- Regarding Sales, what is your top strength?
Account Executive
HR reached out after finding my resume online and set up an initial phone interview for later that week. It was a pretty standard process, focusing on my background and skills. After that, HR mentioned I might be a better fit for a different role and asked if I'd be open to interviewing for that one with someone else. We then scheduled another interview with a Manager, which was also focused on my background and skills.
