I had 5 interviews over a week. First, I talked with the Sr. Manager of Talent Acquisition and it felt like a good fit. The next week, I met with a Sales Team Hiring Manager, 2 HRBPs, and the CHRO. These meetings went well, and I thought they were smart and decent people. After the last interview, I told the manager I was excited and thought it went well. She said they were finishing up and would let me know their decision. I ended up being the runner-up, but they called and explained why they chose someone else. While I was disappointed, the process was much better than others I've had.

The recruiter and coordinator were great to work with, and the hiring manager was good to talk to. The interview panel was mostly positive, although a few members raised some red flags about their team, suggesting that quality processes aren't adequately followed. This hinted at some chaos within their team, which I'm thankful they alluded to. Given the recent stock price dip, I'm even more thankful I didn't proceed further. It seems 'whatever happens is for the best' really applies here. The company culture seemed not great, which was obvious during the interview.

First, there was a screening call with the recruiter, then I interviewed with the hiring manager for an intro chat. After that, I got a take-home assignment focused on data analysis. The next step was a full day of interviews, which included up to six 60-minute sessions with different team members. These covered the take-home assignment, a chat about product management, a coding test, and a behavioral interview. The questions were tough but fair, and everyone I talked to was engaging and easy to get along with. The only drawback was that sometimes there wasn't much time left for me to ask questions at the end, although most people tried to extend the call if needed to give me that chance.

The phone interview was all about FrontEnd stuff. The interviewer was great to work with on a small part of the company's public website. The onsite was a bit of a mess, nobody really got into FrontEnd details. I was asked to code an algorithm to rewrite isSubstring functionality, which is a complex algorithm known as KMP or Rabin Karp. I ended up writing a basic substring algorithm using a sliding window. It worked but was slow. The interviewer didn't offer much help with hints. I wasn't ready for KMP or Rabin Karp because I hadn't studied them.
