Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hines.
Summer Analyst
First I had a phone call to screen and confirm my resume, then a Zoom call technical to review my math and real estate knowledge and skills, then a super day of seven interviews ranging from behavioral to technical.
- What is your approach to valuing a building?
Analyst
The first interaction was with a recruiter, but it was pretty unprofessional. Their phone battery died mid-conversation and they never called back. Then the recruiter texted me saying they had another call and to check the website for questions. I tried to follow up on my application status, but never heard back.
- Can you share some details about your past experiences and your background?
- What makes you interested in working for Hines?
Analyst
I had a pretty good interview experience overall. It started with a phone screen, followed by an interview that included some technical questions but was mostly behavioral. The final stage was an all-day super day where I met the team, and it was nice to meet everyone. Having basic real estate finance knowledge would have helped the process go more smoothly.
- Could you share your favorite building in NYC and explain your reasoning?
