Graduate Engineer Trainee
So after a pre-placement talk, they shortlisted resumes, and then after an online assessment, they shortlisted candidates for the interview. The interview had a Technical and an HR round, and there were two people on the panel.
- Can you introduce yourself, other than what's on your resume?
- Could you explain what viscosity index is?
- If a pressure gauge is connected to both ends of a hydrodynamic cylinder, what reading would it show?
Graduate Engineer Trainee
It was a telephonic interview where I was first asked for an introduction, education qualifications, and graduation year. They also asked about my English proficiency and skills in AutoCAD. Unfortunately, there were no jobs available, and references were required for the interview to proceed. As that requirement was not met, the interview had to be cut short.

Graduate Engineer Trainee
The interview process involved an aptitude test (amcat), followed by a group discussion, then a technical interview, and finally an HR interview. They were really looking for students who were involved in extracurricular activities, had a good grasp of metallurgy basics, and could easily talk to the workers on the shop floor.
