First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hilton.
Sales Manager
This was a video interview. I had to answer 9 questions in a video format using my computer. A week later I received an automated email that they extended an offer to another candidate. In the email there was additional information to keep my job profile active and updated so I can be made aware of future opportunities.
- How have you demonstrated creativity in winning business?
- In what ways does your background and training equip you for this position?
Sales Manager
I was really interested for the role so I have sent a CV and I was invited in HireVue for a recorder interview. Basically there are 6 questions that appear on the screen and you have 2 minutes to answer. I consider that the process so far was very serious but the HireVue interview even if the questions were quite easy was difficult to handle because you don't know where to look and the clock ticking makes it even harder. I did practice a lot recording myself before hand but still I felt that not having a person in front you makes things a bit weird. Still waiting to hear if I was selected for the next step or not.
- What salary expectations do you have?
- Can you tell us about yourself in 2 minutes?
- What is your understanding of Hilton?
Revenue Manager
I applied online and about 2 weeks later got an email to do an online video "interview" which I had 3 days to complete. It was weird because I wasn't talking to anyone, just recording myself answering 14 questions. A few days after that, I got an email saying I passed to the next round, a quick phone call. The person on the phone told me I'd be interviewing with the hiring manager next, over the phone, and it would be a situational interview. That happened a week later, and it was 3 people interviewing me for about 30 minutes. Later that day, I got a call saying I made it to the final round, which was a writing sample where I had to take a side on a business issue and defend it. About 3 business days after that, I got a call with a job offer. The whole thing took under a month and was pretty simple. Everyone was really nice.
- The situational interview will be quite challenging without substantial hotel revenue management experience or education.
- How would you approach a specific business issue?
