Teacher
They want to hear a lot about how you'll assist the bottom quartile students and promote growth. Talk about your experiences outside the classroom related to teacher duties and clubs. Overall, they're looking for someone happy, energetic, and excited.
- In what ways can you support students who are underperforming?
- Can you elaborate on your strategies for fostering student growth?
- Please share examples of your involvement in teacher duties and clubs beyond the classroom.
Assistant Principal
It was pretty disorganized, honestly. You're required to take principal leadership classes even if you're already certified and have a master's degree with leadership experience. After that, you have to go through multiple interview rounds just to get into the candidate pool.
- Tell me about your approach to leadership.
- How do you manage administrative responsibilities?
- What is your vision for the school?
Special Education Teacher
I interviewed with the principal, both assistant principals, and a few classroom teachers. I had two seperate interviews. I was asked the exact same questions in my second interview. I was offered the position but after not hearing from the school or school district for over a month I went to Pasco. I was onboarded at Pasco within a day of being offered a position. Pasco also starts you off at a higher salary.
- How would you help a student struggling with reading in language arts?
- Could you describe a typical day in your classroom?
Host
Had to fill out an online application and give two references (supervisors). Then I called the HOST Admin office and got everything sorted out. Went in for my interview, but they said I wasn't expected and to come back the next day. The second time, my interviewer was running late, and then they had me fill out a paper application.
- Would you describe yourself as creative?
- What value do you think you can add to this role?
- Is your transportation dependable?
