I applied for a job and got an email for an interview pretty quick. The recruiter kept getting my name wrong, even when I corrected them. After I talked about my background, she said I wasn’t what they were looking for even though I’d just shared a bunch of stuff that totally matched. It seemed like they’d already decided not to move forward before the call even started, making me question why they scheduled it.

The first interview I had was really strange. The HR person kept asking me specific questions about my company like "How much do clients pay for your services?" "Please provide a list of all of your clients along with their industries" They were definitely trying to see if they could potentially gain my current company's clients. They asked me questions like "What other companies are you interviewing with and how far are you in the process?" The person I spoke to went on a long spiel about the company that sounded like she was reading off a script, while also trying to add my name in there. When I specifically asked basic questions about PTO, healthcare, 401k, etc. She couldn't give me a straight answer, which I found odd considering that is part of her job. When I later admitted that I received another offer the HR person seemed offended and inquired where I was going. Overall, the interview made me uncomfortable, they seemed kind of desperate for employees which to me is a red flag.

It was a really thorough interview process with back-to-back interviews that felt very efficient. Everyone I met was really nice and asked a lot of questions about my personal and professional goals. I also really appreciated how they focused on diversity initiatives and putting employees first.
