First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hightower Advisors.
Client Service Associate
So there were 4 interviews for this role. First, a quick phone call with the recruiter. Then, the team wanted to talk to me, so they set up a zoom meeting with the managing partners. Right after that, another zoom interview was scheduled with the staff for an assessment, which was later that week. Finally, I had to go in for an in-person interview with everyone on the team. The whole thing was done in about 3 weeks, which was super fast.
- I had to role play a scenario where I was onboarding a client.
IT Governance Analyst
Connie, my recruiter, was super helpful and clear throughout the interview. After an initial chat, there were three main parts: a meeting with the hiring manager, then one with a senior director, and finally, an in-person session that led pretty quickly to an offer. It felt like a really good process, and both the hiring manager and director seemed to know exactly what they were looking for in terms of the role and the kind of person they wanted on the team.
- Can you describe your background in IT auditing and Governance, and how you utilize virtualization tools for metric aggregation and reporting?
HR Business Partner
The interview process included a recruiter call, followed by an interview with an HR team member, then another interview with an HR team member/Business leader. After these rounds, there was a ghosting period. In total, I interviewed with 4 people but received no feedback. I sent a thank you note and followed up with the recruiter, but there was no response. While I understand everyone is busy, it would be courteous to at least acknowledge my application and state if I'm not moving forward, especially after I invested time in interviewing and sending a thank you note. It felt like the team was unsure of what they needed for this role. The position seemed more geared towards offloading tasks from the interviewers rather than being strategic.
- Could you describe your approach to managing employee investigations?
Project Manager
A corporate recruiter did an initial 1st round interview and quickly dismissed my candidacy without checking with the Hiring Manager. This is surprising since I had a successful 3-round interview process 11 months ago with the previous recruiter, Hiring Manager, and Team, and was offered the position. I had other offers at the time and accepted a different one. It's interesting that this new recruiter was quick to dismiss my application but doesn't seem to know what the hiring manager and their team are looking for.
- Can you explain how your education, experience, expertise, and professional credentials align with the duties and responsibilities of this role?
