The interview process was quite unusual. Instead of multiple interview rounds, I had a single meeting directly with the MD. The HR had not informed me beforehand that it would be just one discussion, and that too with the MD, which I only found out upon arrival. The MD didn't ask any questions pertinent to a QA Manager role. Instead, he inquired about my school performance, my grades from school, intermediate college, and engineering college. He also asked about my college experiences and engaged in other irrelevant conversation. He then asked me to describe my very first internship project in great detail. It's challenging to recall specifics from a project worked on 11 years ago. No questions were asked about my current project roles or responsibilities. It felt like almost 2 hours of wasted time. Afterwards, the HR emailed stating I wasn't a suitable fit. It's unclear how the MD concluded this without asking a single relevant question about my experience or the job itself. Overall, a very poor experience.

I got a call from the Talent acquisition team about a job opportunity. They asked me to complete a written test that had Reasoning and English questions. If selected, I would get a call to attend a Technical discussion. They mainly asked questions about my current project and asked me to write test cases for a given scenario. They also asked questions on all basic topics related to manual testing and SQL.

It was a slow process but ultimately good. The first round was technical, with more technical questions to filter candidates. The second round was with a manager to assess compatibility for the role. The third round was a formal HR interview. After that, there were salary discussions if we were in agreement.
