First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HGS.
Technical Support Specialist
I first spoke with a recruiter who asked about my basic info and the typical "Why BPO?". After they were satisfied, I was invited to their House branch for an in-person interview. The interviewer made me wait a bit before we met, but the interview went well. They focused on assessing my English speaking skills and then tried to figure out if I was looking for a short-term gig or a long-term career, which makes sense given the high turnover in the BPO industry. You really need to seem stable and committed during these rounds. There was also a technical aptitude test involving computer basics like Control Panel components, Windows (mostly), some Mac, and basic math and reasoning skills.
- How did you convince them in the stability round?
- How do you maintain appropriate body language, especially when nervous?
Technical Support Specialist
For the first round, they asked me to introduce myself or speak about a random topic for one minute. The next round was a practical telephonic interview where they called me and I had to answer their questions.
- Can you tell us something about your dad?
- Please speak about a random topic for one minute.
- Please answer our questions during this practical telephonic interview.
Tech Support Engineer
The selection process was really smooth, benefits are good, and salary is decent too. Cab pick and drop is provided. The only thing is you should be ready for working in rotational shifts, and the office is not far from various residential locations around it in Bangalore.
- Can you tell me about something you Googled?
