After my resume got shortlisted, there were two technical rounds. The first one was with a senior developer where I had some technical questions and we did some peer-to-peer coding. The second round was with a technical manager, which was more challenging. They asked technical questions and we did more peer-to-peer coding. After that, there might be a client interview, which depends on the client.

It was a really thorough interview. The scenarios presented were of a good standard, and with a bit more preparation, I think I could have nailed it. My only issue is that the job description stated it was for an AWS Architect role, but the initial screening questions were completely different. I was expecting advanced questions right from the first round, but that wasn't the case. They asked about 4 to 5 services I'd never actually used before. Having a JD with a detailed description of the services involved might have been helpful. However, I did learn a lot from the questions asked.

Got an email from Hexaware HR for a Technical Architect role, which I was pretty stoked about. They didn't say it was a walk-in but mentioned it would start around 9:30 am. When I got there, there were about 40 other people interviewing for the same gig. We had to fill out a paper form with our skills and notice period, then do it all over again on an Excel sheet, taking turns on a single laptop. I arrived at 10:30 am but didn't get interviewed until 5:30 pm. By the time evening came, 15 people were sent home, even some who showed up at 9:30 am. The technical round felt more like a school test than actual architect work, with questions about C# implementation details like optional parameters and exception filter interfaces.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you show the correct syntax for optional parameters in a C# method?
  • In an ASP.NET MVC app, what's the name of the interface used for Exception Filters?
  • What are the members of the Exception Filter interface in ASP.NET MVC?
