The interview process was pretty chill, like a casual chat. We mainly discussed how children learn English in Taiwan. Given my 10+ years of teaching experience, they didn't really hit me with any super tough questions.

Behavioral Presentation

It was an online interview. They asked me some general questions. Then I had to give a demo lesson based on material they sent me beforehand. A big chunk of the interview was about whether I'd agree to the school's contract terms. Towards the end, they asked me to read something aloud and mentioned they prefer an American accent.

I found the English Teacher position online and applied through their site. After that, they reached out via email proposing a Skype interview. The Skype interview, which was with a Western English Teacher, went pretty well. They asked me questions about teaching and how I would handle working in a school. The interview itself was professional and chill. I got an offer after the interview and got to pick a city. Then I flew to Taiwan for a few days of training and orientation.

  • How do you maintain student focus and engagement during lessons?
