Insights Manager
I was contacted via LinkedIn. After submitting my resume, I had a 30-minute interview scheduled with the hiring manager. They called 30 minutes prior to reschedule for an hour later. When she finally called, she seemed to be eating or multitasking while repeatedly saying "tell me about you." Then, she abruptly asked me to hold. After about 10 minutes, she returned and continued to ask me to "keep talking about you." This was the extent of the first interview. After about 18 minutes, including 10 minutes on hold, she suddenly stated that the next step was to talk to the team I would work with, mentioning they would call me or I could call them. Naturally, no one called. When I followed up with the initial contact, she stated she had no feedback yet. A week later, I received a rushed voicemail and email to call back immediately to set up interviews. Two hours later, another email stated the hiring manager decided to delay the interview round for about two weeks. I am still waiting, 45 days and counting. It was a very disappointing and disorganized interview. As someone they contacted, I believe I deserved feedback, but there was only silence.
- Can you tell me more about yourself?
Senior Manager
A staff recruiter will reach out to schedule an initial meeting if they think you're a potential match. If that goes well, you'll meet with the hiring manager. Following that, you'll have meetings with a few team members you'd be working with. There might be one more chat with either the recruiter or the hiring manager before a final decision is made.
- Tell me about your previous job experience and how it applies to this role.
Manager
The first interview was with the direct manager or head of the department, and it went well. The second interview was with HR, and it didn't go so well. The HR person, who I think was a director, seemed arrogant and inflexible. However, the HR manager was good.
- Can you walk me through your previous work experience?
- Could you please introduce yourself?
