I applied online and got a call from a recruiter to set up an interview. The chat was about 15–20 minutes, and it was professional and direct. We talked about the job, what it entails, and the salary. Our expectations didn't match up, and the recruiter was cool about it. I later sent a thank-you note and decided not to move forward.

I went through a 5-month interview process for a job opening. I often felt ghosted between interviews and didn't get many updates. After a final interview, I was told I'd know the decision within a week, but it's been 4 weeks with no word. This was the most unprofessional process I've experienced; the team didn't even have the courtesy to update me after I completed 5 interview rounds. It really says a lot about the company's values and culture.

The hiring process starts with resume reviews to pick candidates, then an initial HR call to check basic qualifications and how they communicate. After that, candidates do technical or job-specific interviews, which might have tests or assignments. The ones who do well move on to final interviews with top management. After looking at all the interview stages, the company picks someone and offers them the job.

The hiring process was quite slow compared to other companies. It took over a week after I dropped my resume for the recruitment team from China to call me for a phone screening. By then, I had already received and signed an offer from another company. Despite telling the recruiter my situation, she insisted I attend the first interview. The Japanese interviewer seemed unimpressed and picky, as if looking for something rare. They didn't seem very invested. The next day, after I informed the recruitment team that I would need at least a two-month notice period or would have to pay a penalty to my current company if they wanted to hire me, they told me I didn't pass. Their reason was that they felt I wasn't very eager to join Herbalife and hadn't studied the company well. It's no wonder this position has been open for almost half a year without being filled due to their slow process. I feel fortunate I didn't end up joining Herbalife and could start my new career elsewhere.
