I applied and interviewed for a Project Engineer role. However, by the second interview, my credentials were unexpectedly lowered to an Entry Level Field Engineer position without my knowledge. Furthermore, my qualifications were disqualified from the construction division and reviewed for the facilities services division, again, without my being informed. I also observed a significant diversity issue within Hensel Phelps, noting it among the people I saw at their office, the executive board, and employees at a job site. Minorities might want to look for opportunities elsewhere.

Met with two people from the company at a career fair, and they called me the same day to set up an interview for the next day. It was a good interview with honest questions. They seemed to be looking for people who are flexible and skilled. They offer great benefits and there's room for advancement, though the career path is pretty set with not much flexibility in the steps. They're really interested in who you are as a person and what your career goals are.
