Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Henry Ford Health.
Software Engineer
I had an interview call with the manager. First, we talked about my past experiences and project delivery. Then, they asked me some basic programming questions and about projects on my resume. After that, we moved on to system design questions, and then to the next round.
- Can you explain OOP?
- Could you describe what a HashMap and a Hash Tree are?
Software Engineer
I talked to the Exec Recruiter first. Then, a week later, an HR admin reached out about setting up an interview with the Dev Dept. I gave them my availability, and after another week of radio silence and an ignored email asking for an update, I finally got the interview schedule. The interview was with the direct reports for the job, not the actual hiring manager. About two weeks after that, a third HR person emailed to say I wasn't moving forward.
- Can you share your experience with fundraising?
- How has your experience been with collaboration?
Senior Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty quick and painless. But, they didn't talk about salary upfront, which was a bummer because it led to a surprise when the offer came. The HR folks handling the offer talks seemed out of touch with what actually makes a good candidate experience.
- The interviewers asked a great variety of questions.
