I applied online for the OS III job and got an email that I'd been selected for an interview. I picked a date and time. They emailed me three questions ahead of time. It went well, so I got a second interview with three people. I had six tough questions to answer. I thought it went well but two days later I was told I didn't get the job. I didn't think the interview questions were particularly relevant to the position. I've been a transcriptionist for most of my life and I haven't had to build any productive relationships with stakeholders. I've also never really disagreed with someone in a position of power; I don't want to get fired, so that would not be advantageous. And the diversity questions are hard. I'd like to know how the current employees answered those questions because it's not easy to think of what to say.

The interview process was really smooth. I had two interviews about a week apart. They sent the questions beforehand, which I really appreciated because I could take my time to prepare my answers. I didn't get much time to ask questions at the end of the first interview, but they answered my follow-up email with questions quickly and thoroughly.

The first interview was an interdisciplinary team of four people and lasted for an hour. They were screening candidates to see if they would move on to the next stage. They gave us questions 30 minutes before the interview and expected answers. If you knew the subject matter, they weren't hard but didn't give much time for other discussions. I passed this stage and then met with the project lead and the hiring manager. This was a more conversational meeting.

I applied and they asked some specific questions about my work history. I was ranked as the top candidate, and I have over 10 years of experience as an HR professional in various roles. The interview was an 'all business' panel interview with a short introduction. They got straight to the questions, no 'how is your day' or 'tell us about yourself.' Also, I have a speech impediment, and it takes me longer to answer, so I felt rushed and deflated – it wasn't a very inclusive interview. They ended up hiring an internal candidate. I could tell they had already made up their minds and I was just part of making the process look legitimate to meet state requirements. All answers needed to be in STAR format, which is harder for people with disabilities. I write better than I talk, and it takes me much longer to say what I want to articulate.
