Case Behavioral Technical

I went through an interview process for a marketing role at a tech company. It was the typical tech company long process: first a TA interview, then a case study, and then a few more interview rounds. I decided to drop out because the company's benefits aren't consistent across different markets and they were totally not transparent about them. They sent me a case study that involved looking at some mock data, answering questions about profitability, and then creating a strategy for their back-to-school campaign (feels like questionable free work, honestly). I asked about the benefits package, but they said they couldn't share any details until my first day on the job due to restrictions. When I asked about maternity or paternity leave, they told me that the employee handbook details are only available after starting and they can't share more info on leave benefits (besides annual leave) because of these restrictions. It seemed like they don't offer these benefits but are avoiding saying so directly because it would look bad.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

I went for a Digital Marketing Manager role, specifically on the paid online team. It took about a month and a half from start to finish. The interviews were pretty straightforward: first, a chat with HR, then the hiring manager, followed by a case study I had 5 days to complete, and finally, a meeting with the team's director. The first interview was standard stuff to check if I fit the role and company vibe. The second one was a bit unusual, felt more like a casual talk about digital marketing tools than a formal interview; no behavioral questions, which was a surprise. The case involved creating a digital marketing strategy for a specific channel across three markets. I felt the topic was quite broad, so I put a lot of effort into exploring various aspects. The presentation questions were manageable, not too technical. The last chat with the director was also relaxed; he just asked me to introduce myself and then had me ask him questions. The only downside was the salary offer, which was less than my previous job. But I'm hoping for fast career growth here.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

There were 5 rounds in the application process, which were clearly communicated beforehand. The first round is the classic exploratory interview with someone from HR and the future team lead. The conversation was very pleasant, professional, and yet personal. I immediately felt very welcomed. This was followed by further rounds with Excel and data analysis, then an introductory round including the presentation of a case with the team lead and director, and finally a team & cultural fit. Here it is checked whether you fit into the team and know and understand the company's culture. Especially in times of Corona, where you also work a lot from home, I find this number of rounds and the tasks appropriate and fitting.
