Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Heidelberg Materials.
Engineer
Had an initial phone screen with HR, then a panel interview with the plant manager and lead engineer. The final interview was in-person where I visited the plant, met supervisors, and got a tour. Communication was a bit off with time zone issues and reschedules from their side. The in-person part and tour were good, seemed like a good opportunity but I had a better offer.
- What are your long-term career aspirations (5-10 years)?
- Can you share an instance where you made an error and how you rectified it?
Engineer
I had an interview with an engineer and their intern. They started by asking me about myself. We discussed my motivations for wanting to join the company, and my key strengths and weaknesses. After they finished asking questions, the engineer went on to explain the role and what would be expected of me.
- What do you know about Lehigh Hanson?
Project Engineer
I talked to HR on the phone for about 20 minutes. They said they'd set up a face-to-face interview later. I didn't hear back for two weeks, so I reached out again. HR then told me they were moving forward with other candidates.
- Have you worked in a quarry before?
