Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Heidelberg Materials.
Accountant
It's a 4-round interview process. The first round is a phone call. The second is with the hiring manager. The third is with your direct manager. The fourth round is with another manager in the department, and it's for technical questions.
- Can you self-assess your Excel skills on a scale of beginner, intermediate, or expert?
- What motivates you to want to work for this specific company?
- What are your career aspirations?
Senior Accountant
I had an initial chat with HR over the phone, then went into a panel interview that was split into two parts and lasted a few hours. They asked questions that were pretty specific to my background and what I'd done before, and sometimes they'd circle back to things I'd already said.
- Can you tell me about your resume and previous experience?
- Can you elaborate on your previous answers?
Accountant
I interviewed with two senior managers first, and then met with a panel of senior accountants. The managers were okay, but the senior accountants came across as a bit protective of their turf and not very receptive to new ideas. All in all, it was fine.
- What is prompting your job search away from your current role?
