First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hearst.
Marketing Manager
The interview process kicked off with a phone screen by an HR recruiter who seemed really positive about the possibility of a good match. Next, I met with the hiring manager, who gave off a vibe of not really trusting people. He mentioned I'd meet the team, but then I got a rejection email after sending a thank you. This job has been posted repeatedly, suggesting they're struggling to find someone or maybe it's a role to avoid. I got a sense of insecurity from them.
- Could you provide your Hubspot domain address?
Associate Marketing Manager
I applied online and got contacted for an interview. It was supposed to be a 30-minute video meeting. I put a lot of effort into preparing because I really wanted the job. When we started, I began introducing myself, but the interviewer cut me off once they realized I was an international candidate (even though I live in the US). They ended the interview right there, saying they don't sponsor visas for the role. This was super unprofessional from HR, especially since I'd already indicated on my application that I'm an international candidate on a work visa. Why even schedule the interview then?
- Can you walk me through your background and work experience?
Marketing Manager
It was an informal and quick process with two interviews. Everyone was nice and not too formal. One interview was a call and the other was a zoom call with two employees. The experience was fine.
- Tell me about your integrated marketing experience across different channels.
