The interview process had two main parts. The first was a direct on-site interview that lasted about 2 hours and involved meeting three different groups. Initially, I spoke with the IT director, who was very approachable and direct. Next, I met with software architects and a senior developer; they were friendly and discussed the IT team and workflow. Finally, I had a conversation with a business analyst and a QA engineer who were easy to talk to and inquired about my collaboration style in handling issues from requirements to defects. The second round involved meeting a team member I hadn't spoken with before for a general experience discussion. This was followed by a 1-hour case study focused on assessing my system design skills.

The interview was scheduled for an hour but only lasted 30 minutes. The hiring manager was late due to other commitments, so a replacement manager conducted the interview. This manager was unwilling to answer questions about commission details and tiers, and no information was provided to me or other candidates. When I asked for a commission sheet, I was told there would be time later. The discussion about the role, which should be a career decision, barely touched on benefits, only mentioning that they would support us. Information about free B leads and the cost of A leads was provided, but there was no mention of a CRM or how the team stays organized, despite my inquiries. I ask many questions and expect clear answers.

I applied online. I had my first in-person interview at the office today. It was a one-on-one meeting and the interviewer made me feel comfortable. We talked about why I picked the insurance industry, my aspirations, and how HealthMarkets aligns with those goals. There's a one-week training period, and I can work remotely, online, or in the field. I have my second interview scheduled for next week, and training starts the third week.

Behavioral Other

Had two interviews. The first was just an interest meeting for potential Agents, and they talked about some stuff that seemed kinda unethical about leadership at HealthMarkets, like signing people up for carriers we don't even work with. The second interview was better and covered a lot of the job. It was pretty standard, but they didn't really go into how different commission amounts could mean earning less or more per sign-up.
