Sales Development Representative
I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn, and we had a call to discuss the role and company. Then, I went to the San Diego office for a 45-minute 1:1 with another recruiter. After that, I shadowed someone in the role for 45 minutes, which was really insightful given the role involves a lot of calls and long hours, but the team seemed motivated and cool. I came back another day for a panel interview with sales executives where I had to present a brag sheet. Finally, I was told I'd have a 1:1 with the director of sales, but instead of scheduling, I got an email saying I didn't get an offer. It was a solid experience; the recruiters were honest about the role's challenges, which I appreciated.
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in life insurance?
- Why are you interested in an inside sales position?
Sales Development Representative
The interview process was thorough but the recruiters made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. They were overwhelming welcoming and helpful from the first phone interview. From there I was scheduled for an in person interview to meet with the direct manager and a "ride-along" with an agent to get a better understanding of the role. From there I was asked to come back and present to a team all of my accomplishments. The recruiters again helped me through the process and made sure I was prepared for my presentation. Overall, I appreciated how thorough their process was and if you do get an offer you then understand how they've been able to cultivate such a strong team. It may not be the easiest of interviews but they know what they're doing in vetting and selecting driven employees!
- What is your primary motivation?
- What makes you interested in this particular company?
Sales Development Representative
This process was long and excruciating. Started with a phone interview, then came in for a one on one with Manny. After that they had me come in again for a 15 minute presentation in front of the executives outlining all my accomplishments. Then they had me come in for an interview with the sales director, which then turned into a 45 minute “test” outlining the company’s roadmap, formula for how to calculate life insurance, typing test, writing a sample email and doing a sample call. After this they said they would contact me and after a week still hadn’t heard anything so I reached out to them where they then decided to not extend an offer. This whole process took 3 weeks just to be rejected.
- What makes you want to work here?
