The hiring process starts with a recruiter call, followed by an online SQL test, and then an on-site interview. The on-site consists of two parts: a role-playing case where you use a whiteboard to explain your solution design and thought process, and a more traditional interview covering your background, projects, and experiences like 'tell me about a time you worked hard'. I was told my skills didn't align with the salary target after passing the assessment and hearing they were eager to bring me in, which was frustrating as compensation was discussed early on. It felt like a waste of a day off.

The interview started with an HR call, then a technical skills test, and finally an in-person interview. The technical test involved a SQL assessment where I was given a physical diagram and asked to write queries for certain questions. During the 1:1 meeting, I was presented with a business scenario and tasked with designing an ERD and writing a query that used inner joins on three database tables.
