The hiring process was quite slow. It took two weeks to get any response after applying. First, I had a phone interview with HR, which went well. Then, it took another week to schedule a meeting with the hiring manager, which also seemed to go well. After that, it took a week to set up a panel interview. This whole initial part took about a month. It's now been another month with no update, either an offer or a rejection. I tried contacting the recruiter for an update, but received no reply, so my application is still in limbo. This slow pace seems to be a pattern, as I experienced the same thing with other roles I applied for here.

It was pretty easy. They asked about my career goals, what contributions I could make, and how I dealt with a difficult situation. The interview overall was straightforward. They also inquired about culture and my knowledge of healthcare. I was asked about my 5-year outlook. There weren't many situational questions.

After a RIF in 2015, the employee was told they would get priority interviews for positions they applied for due to displacement. They applied for 4 positions but got no acknowledgement or contact. They then saw a similar position with fewer responsibilities, which would have been good given the lack of leadership support for filling vacated roles for over 4 years. HCSC usually sends notifications for roles matching a person's profile, and the employee received these notices over 5 times, updated their profile, and submitted applications, but were always told "there are other candidates whose skills align better." This made it hard not to take it personally. Finally, they applied for an Analyst role, 4 levels below their starting point, with half the salary and bonus potential. Interestingly, they are now interviewing for a position they did 20 years ago, which involves hands-on work and teaching, which they feel could benefit staff.
