First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Health Advocates.
Coordinator
So the process started with a resume review and then some questions. They gave me a literacy test, then an essay, and finished with a typing test. It was pretty easy overall. But some info on the company and other sites was wrong ($19-24). They pay $19/hour flat, no range or negotiation. The recruiter called with an offer and asked if I'd take less than $20, which I declined. The listing said 30 WPM typing, but they told me 35 WPM. They got hostile when I mentioned it. Seems like no accountability there, I wouldn't recommend it. They should check their job listings before interviewing.
- Can you describe your previous role?
- How do you typically manage conflict situations?
- In your own words, what is customer service?
Customer Service Representative
Got sent for the interview by a staffing firm that had worked with the company before. They sent me some tests to do before I arrived, and the interview got rescheduled a couple of times. Had to take the tests again and pass them to get an interview. After I passed, they made me wait 45 minutes even though I was the first one scheduled. The interviewer, who was all business, wrote notes the whole time and kept leaving to IM or email people. Then, a different person, a lead who was dressed casually in jeans and a sweatshirt, interviewed me and was really nice.
- Can you describe a situation where you dealt with a challenging customer?
On-Site Coordinator
Started with a brief computer skills test at the lobby with HR. Then had a quick interview with her. I asked to speak with someone same day and ended up speaking with the supervisor's supervisor, who hired me right away. Got a call saying I was a good fit and received a job offer with a start date, skipping the second interview.
- Can you tell me about your three biggest strengths and weaknesses?
Administrative Assistant
I sent in my resume and applied online. They gave me a call for an initial interview, and then I had a second interview with someone else where I also did some basic skills testing.
- Do you have experience with HIPPA or case management or hospital experience?
- Have you worked with public benefit programs before?
- What skills do you possess?
