A recruiter reached out via email to set up a phone interview. During this call, they asked if I was interviewing with other companies. I mentioned I had a relocation opportunity with my current employer and shared my decision timeline. After the initial call, there was a week of silence before the recruiter contacted me again to schedule a Zoom meeting with the regional clinical director. This interview went very well; they seemed eager to fill the role quickly due to a tight schedule. About five days later, I received a call from the recruiter to schedule a Zoom meeting with the operations VP. Following that meeting, the VP mentioned the recruiter would arrange a meeting for me at the hospital. The recruiter contacted me two days after that to set up the hospital meeting. The hospital interview was fantastic, and the HR director even called me afterwards to congratulate me on the positive meeting. After six days without hearing anything, I tried contacting the recruiter via phone and email without success. On the sixth day, I received an email to complete reference checks. My references submitted their reviews within 28 hours. It's now been six days since I got the reference check email, and I still haven't heard back. Their target start date is in five days. What's most frustrating is the complete lack of communication; I'm unsure if I'm still a candidate or if they've moved on.

So basically, you apply online and if you don't have like X years of hospital management experience, you're probably not gonna get a call back 'cause HR is just trying not to get in trouble. They don't really think outside the box about how maybe your experience in Y industry could transfer to Z industry, which is a shame. The hiring managers are way better at seeing that, but the HR people on the phone screens don't get it, probably 'cause they don't actually work in healthcare or with the people they're hiring. So if your resume isn't exactly what they're looking for, you probably won't even get a phone interview. I had to get super creative (but still honest!) and reach out directly to the hiring manager, who then told HR to interview me after they had already passed me up. Once I was in the system though, the rest of the interview process was a breeze because the hiring manager knew what they wanted. I bet so many good candidates don't even get a call back just 'cause their resume isn't the standard one. You really have to fight to be seen and try to skip HR if you can. Once the hiring manager knows who you are (use LinkedIn or whatever to contact them), they can ask HR to move you through the process for a real interview. After that, there's usually a background check.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was smooth. I got contacted by the AVP before HR even notified me. I conducted my phone screening which was a good hour long. I then waited about a week or two before being notified about an interview. I was out of town for the first choice but they asked me what my preference was. I made the interview and attended at 8am and it lasted roughly two hours. I first interviewed with the AVP and the medical director. Then he left and I was with the AVP and two of the physicians. Then they left and I got a tour of the place and met the nurse manager and the nurses that work there. I finished my interview with the AVP and the hospital partner. Asked all sorts of questions and I asked some great questions back. After the interview I hear back after about 4 business days with the offer. Make sure you negotiate if you want higher pay. I did and I actually got 10k more than that what I originally was going to accept. Looking forward to this position and everything it entials.
