The first round involved a project using both frontend and backend. After three days, two telephonic rounds followed on subsequent days, one for frontend and one for backend. About four to five days later, HR called for basic details. A month later, HR called again to discuss salary, explaining that as an insurance company, they couldn't match IT company pay and offered significantly less, with the bulk of the compensation being mandatory insurances and a 31% variable pay based on individual and company performance. This was a waste of time, as it could have been avoided if they had been upfront about not being able to afford an IT professional.

I was interviewed for a Software Engineer position at HDFC Ergo. There was just one face-to-face round where the interviewer asked me very basic .NET questions, almost like a college viva. I don't get how they can judge candidates in just one interview. At the end, they asked about my salary and notice period. I mentioned it's 2 months, which I think is why they rejected me, otherwise, I don't see any other reason. If notice period is the only issue, why call candidates who can join immediately?

Had 2 rounds, one technical and one with the manager. Both were easy and a great experience. They helped me understand the company and the job profile well. Questions were relevant to the job. Overall, a good experience. If selected, you'll get an offer within a week.
