First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at hCentive.
Quality Analyst
I applied through a staffing agency. The whole thing took 2 weeks. I interviewed at hCentive (Noida) in August 2012. The hiring process is okay, it took almost a day to get to the HR round. HR was cooperative and the interviewers were also comforting. The interview rounds were: 1. Online IQ test 2. Two purely technical rounds. 3. Manager/Director round 4. HR discussions. I accepted the offer because at the time of my HR round, I was offered a competitive package compared to other product-based organizations.
- What are basic testing concepts?
- Can you explain SQL queries and DBMS concepts?
- Describe test cases creation and strategies.
Senior QA Engineer
I was supposed to attend an interview drive on a weekend, but after waiting for 3 hours, they called me to schedule it for a weekday. On the scheduled day, the first round was a 45-minute technical/aptitude test, which went well. Then, a manager-like person started asking questions very rapidly, seeming uninterested in my answers. He was even checking SQL/Unix answers on Google while interviewing. He didn't understand a query about maximum salary and asked me to explain it, and also asked what the letter "o" was, which he thought was the answer. He repeatedly asked why I wanted to change jobs within a year. After this, HR said another round would be arranged with a different project manager on another day, stating there were no negatives. Later, HR called and asked me to come for a face-to-face interview the same day. I had asked to reschedule for Friday and requested confirmation. When I called on Thursday to confirm, HR said my profile was not suitable.
- He asked three or more times why you want to change jobs in a year.
Quality Assurance Engineer
It was a walk-in drive and everything was very well arranged. The process was smooth, and it was maintained that everything goes on time. We had 4 rounds. The first round was a subjective coding round. The second and third rounds were technical rounds which had puzzles and coding questions. The fourth round was an HR round with basic HR questions.
- What are the sorting algorithms?
- Explain string manipulation.
- Can you solve some puzzles?
