First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HCA HealthONE.
Accountant
This interview is to check if you're qualified, have the right experience, and generally fit the role. We might ask about your skills, job history, what you've accomplished, and how you'd handle certain situations. There will be practical tasks or tests to see if you can do the actual job.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your interest in this role and our company?
- Could you provide an overview of your resume?
- What do you consider your greatest strengths?
Registered Nurse
I went through 3 interviews over about 2-3 weeks. After the third interview, which they said was the final one, they told me they really liked what I had to offer and would finish interviews for the day and get back to me. However, I never got a call or email, and they didn't even have the courtesy to reply to my follow-up message or email. I've been completely ignored. This company had previously offered me a position, but I couldn't accept it for personal reasons at the time. Now, with even more experience, I know I'm qualified, yet they won't even return a call. They are just incredibly rude.
- Can you share an instance where you made an error or almost made one at work?
EMR Analyst
The interview process was internal, and confidentiality was not maintained. It seems like who you know matters more than what you know at this company. Higher management apparently thinks 'courtesy interviews' are beneficial, but they end up being a waste of everyone's time and effort. I was rejected by the HR system before the interview even happened, though I was told it was a mistake. The interview itself was very brief, and it was obvious it was just a formality, and I wasn't really being considered. I know other people who got the job who have better connections with people in higher positions but are much less qualified.
- What makes you want this job?
Physician Assistant
Interviewed with the manager and some physicians. After that, I shadowed physicians for most of the day. This was to get to know everyone, talk with the staff, and get a better sense of the clinic's atmosphere and how it operates. I definitely recommend this process. (this was 2009)
- Can you tell me about your previous experience and your productivity levels, specifically the number of patient visits you handled per day?
- Could you describe a time you had a tense or negative experience at a previous workplace and explain how you handled it?
