The process was very detailed but good overall, with very good onboarding. Every step was very digital focused, with the person being interviewed very forward and top of mind in the process.

For my first round, I had Google meet interviews with two different people. It was pretty chill and conversational, but I basically had the same chat with both of them. It felt like it could have been one big interview to make things easier, but honestly, it went fine. The second round was similar, meeting with two more people. But the second woman I spoke with was totally unprofessional and really rude. She seemed to have a problem with me from the start, and I still don't know why since everyone else seemed to like me. She was giving me attitude the whole time, couldn't understand why I wanted the job, and just stared at me silently after I answered her questions. It was super weird and awkward. I mentioned I liked psychology and that's what drew me to this media group, even though the job wasn't related to psychology at all. She then asked me to explain a recent study because I liked psychology so much. The final straw was when I started asking about the job itself. I asked about the salary because it was never brought up, and she rudely replied, "Um, that's a question for HR not for me." I was taken aback. Then I asked about benefits, and she said, "Again, that's a question for HR. That's clearly not a question for me." There's more I could say, but bottom line, if they offer me the job, I'm not taking it. She completely put me off the job and the company. She really shouldn't be conducting interviews.

The people were really nice! I first chatted with the editorial director, then with two of the assistant editors. The questions were pretty typical for an editorial role. They got back to me pretty fast, both to offer me an interview and then to say no.
